Private tango tuition for small groups:
'Bring Your Own (BYO) Group'
'Bring Your Own (BYO) Group'
We specialise in regular small-group tango workshops for 6-12 dancers. This format offers lots of individual attention and intensive tuition but works out much cheaper per person than a private lesson, and it offers a chance to dance with a small number of other partners, in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere.
Alongside our established ATSE groups, we offer private tango tuition to pre-existing small groups - like yours!
For dancers...
Some BYO groups are composed of ATSE or other tango students who wish to explore tango in greater depth, or focus on a particular specialism such as tango nuevo, tango milonguero or vals.
And sometimes we have groups of friends who already dance tango elsewher but who want to expand their repertoire or learn specific movements they've always longed to do but not had the chance to (back sacadas, volcadas and boleos are frequently requested!).
We also teach small groups of friends who dance other social dances (ballroom, salsa or folk dancing, for example) and fancy trying something new.
...and non-dancers!
Other BYO groups are 'guests', usually absolute beginners or non-tango-dancers from outside ATSE, who want to do something new with their friends, or who are celebrating a special event together. Some are groups who pursue other hobbies together (eg. playing bridge, singing, cycling) and fancy trying something different!
If you'd like to book a BYO workshop, please just get in touch and let us know what you're looking for.

Forming your 'small group'
A 'small group' is usually a minimum of six people, and a maximum of twelve. For larger groups, eg. if you would like us to come and teach as guest teachers at your dance class or special event, please click here.
You do need to ensure there are equal numbers of leaders and followers within your group, so that no-one has to 'stand out' and wait for a partner. Do note that you will get more out of your private group lesson if all those attending are at a similar level (or willing to work at a similar level).
A small group can be any level, from absolute beginners, through improver, intermediate and advanced. We'll plan the workshop so that it suits the group.
For 'Bring your own group' workshops, the format is adaptable: we can run longer sessions (up to three hours) and book 'one-offs' rather than a series of sessions, to suit your group.
How much?
The price for this kind of private small-group tango lesson depends on the size of the group, but should work out at approximately £40 per person (generally speaking, the smaller the group, the higher the price per person; the larger the group, the lower the price per person). We will include the venue hire/hall costs within the price we quote; we always try to find the most affordable suitable venue, and the costs aren't usually very high.
