'Bring your own (BYO) group' workshops - any level
We specialise in regular small-group tango workshops for 6-12 dancers. This format offers lots of individual attention and intensive tuition (at half the cost of a private lesson), as well as a chance to dance with a small number of other partners, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Alongside our established ATSE groups, we offer private tango tuition to pre-existing small groups. Some of these are composed of ATSE or other tango students who wish to explore tango in greater depth, or focus on a particular specialism such as tango nuevo, tango milonguero or vals.

Other small groups are 'guest' groups, usually absolute beginners from outside ATSE, who want to do something new with their friends, or who are celebrating a special event together. We also teach small groups of friends who dance other social dances (ballroom, salsa or folk dancing, for example) and fancy trying something new.

And sometimes we have groups  of friends who already dance tango elsewhere but who want to expand their repertoire or learn specific movements they've always longed to do but not had the chance to (back sacadas, volcadas and boleos are frequently requested!).

If you're interested in booking a ''BYO Group' private workshop, please click here for more info and then
get in touch and let us know what kind of thing you're looking for!

What is a small-group workshop? Key features

The format of the workshop varies according to the attendees. However, there are some common features:

We usually define a 'small group' as a minimum of six people, and a maximum of twelve. However, for the moment we are keeping these small groups a little more exclusive, so that attendees get extra individual attention. So at present, our small-group workshops are 6-8 people only. All small groups are made up of equal numbers of leaders and followers, so no-one need wait for a partner.

We have not increased our small-group prices for five years, despite rising venue costs and other costs. The price for a small-group workshop/lesson is £30 per person per hour. This is half the cost of a private lesson for an individual, in a hall/studio. It's an economical way to get personal attention and tuition and meet other dancers.

Each workshop is typically two hours long (sometimes just 90 mins for beginners), and they are usually organised into themed series, so that you book for 6-8 hours of tango tuition, spread across 3-4 dates.

For 'Bring your own group' workshops, the format is adaptable: we can run longer sessions (up to three hours) and book 'one-offs' rather than a series of sessions, to suit your group.
